Science-Fiction is an excuse to talk about today's problems
It is said that Science-Fiction speculates about the future, but in truth it is often used to talk about today's problems.
Some examples:
- The Handmaid's Tale warns about surrogacy, and abortion bans.
- The Word for World is Forest draws parallelisms from the Vietnam War (which happened in Ursula K. LeGuin's time)
- Cyberpunk portraits the dangers of extreme capitalism.
